Last month was yet another busy month, but then again, when has it not been? I haven’t been blogging much, because I just haven’t been very motivated, and have been trying to make my time with Noah count more, since he is starting school really soon. We’ve been just hanging out together, just the two of us, and even though it’s really exhausting, my heart melts when he looks at me and says, “I love you mummy.” I have no idea how I’m going to cope with being apart from him for a few hours on a daily basis!
Okay, sorry for being so melodramatic. I know I’m going to enjoy my daily me-time, and I’m sure I will be thankful that I don’t have to lug him around with me EVERYWHERE, like to the supermarket where he insists on praying for the car-trolley, and getting upset when we visit a supermarket that doesn’t have it. We usually visit the supermarket once a week, and he absolutely loves driving around in the car-trolley.

On days that we don’t manage to get the car-trolley, I trap him in the supermarket trolley, where he reaches out to touch everything, insisting, “I need this!” as he points at whatever snack or toy that catches his fancy. Some days, he runs around the supermarket crazily, so I just try to grab whatever I need, rush to the checkout counter, and try to get us out of there before he breaks something.

“Where’s the music, mummy?”
We made a donation to the Boys’ Brigade Share-a-Gift campaign, and Noah got to push around a kid-sized trolley, which made him really happy too.

We went to a friend’s house for a playdate, and Noah was absolutely thrilled to discover that she owns a battery-operated ride-on car. We didn’t tell him that the car was battery-operated, of course, as he probably would have refused to leave the house, if he discovered that he could actually drive it around.

I brought him to the SuperCuts at Nex to get his hair cut, as they’ve got two vehicles for little customers. Although he enjoyed the experience, I think it was overpriced, and he had a nicer haircut at City Square Mall previously.

Noah is perpetually playing with all sorts of vehicles, and often carries at least one car around the house with him. He enjoyed the transport-themed puzzles I got him, played quite a bit with his wooden trains and Duplo trucks, and gets his cars or other vehicles to “watch” him while he does something else. He loves the Thomas the Engine books, and bugs us to read them to him quite a bit.

Noah was hit by a stomach virus this month, which really gave us quite a scare. I was woken up by a strange noise at 130am one night, got C to switch the lights on, and discovered that Noah had puked big time in his cot. After another two rounds of vomiting within two hours, we brought him to the nearby 24-hour clinic, where he threw up again, and refused to be examined by the doctor there. He spat out most of whatever medicine we were able to give him, threw up again shortly after, and managed to finally fall asleep for an hour or so. I brought him to the PD in the morning, as he started having diarrhea, and was very lethargic. He developed a fever the next night, but thankfully, the fever broke after a few hours of oiling his soles with Peppermint Essential Oil. He recovered from the stomach flu after a couple of days, though he lost quite a bit of weight.

Noah isn’t a big fan of eating, and I usually have to feed him at meal-times, but he’s been asking to feed himself occasionally recently. He’s still a really messy eater, but he doesn’t like having his mouth dirty, so I have to keep cleaning his mouth for him as he eats.

We brought Noah to catch two movies, Big Hero 6, and Penguins of Madagascar, both of which he seemed to really enjoy. I think he liked Big Hero 6 more though, because he talked about it more, and loves doing the Baymax fist-bump with us. He also asked for popcorn more frequently during the Penguins movie, which probably meant that he was bored.

Noah hasn’t been into painting very much these days, so when he asked to paint, I gladly obliged. He had a lot of fun painting with his hands, and made some lovely wrapping paper for me to use for Christmas.

The final product
Speaking of Christmas, Noah received his first and only Christmas card, from the very sweet Lil’ Pumpkin. He loves watching me collect the mail, and was thrilled that one of the many letters was actually for him.

He also attended a Christmas party in church, at his first ever Sunday School class. He was rather clingy, and wasn’t quite keen on playing the games, or singing the songs, but he did enjoy munching on the snacks.

We also had a Christmas party during our last ever playdate with his group of friends, and had a mini graduation ceremony during the party that day. He was so pleased with his graduation certificate!

Happy belated 29th month, sweetheart! We love you so very much.
