Seven Years On…

As of yesterday, we’ve been married for seven years, and honestly, it feels as though I wrote this post recently, instead of a year ago! If you follow me on Dayre (@GrowingwiththeTans), you might have read my random confession recently that most times, I feel like a kid masquerading as an adult. I mean, when and who decided that I was old and mature enough to have my own home, and even have a kid? It still feel surreal at times, walking around my house, and just being a slave/mum to Noah, but I’m definitely thankful for C and Noah.

Originally, I wanted to book us a staycation, but because C’s travel dates weren’t fixed, I had to scrap that idea, just in case he had to fly off earlier. He wanted to get me a nice watch, but I found out about his plan, and managed to convince him that I really don’t need one. We then agreed that we wouldn’t be getting each other gifts this year, but I sneakily got him a Kindle, since he’s going to be traveling quite a bit, and I didn’t want to share mine thought it would be nice for him to have some entertainment on his trips. I got Noah to help decorate both our Kindles with stickers, so that we can tell them apart, and he was most happy to oblige.

C took the day off yesterday to spend time together with us, before flying off on a business trip. He wasn’t quite sure if he had to go in to the office during the day, so we decided to celebrate our anniversary a day earlier, on Sunday, by going out for dinner at Etna, and taking a walk at Gardens by the Bay.

The lights at Gardens by the Bay were really pretty, but it was quite crowded, so we didn’t manage to see much. We chanced upon the Blizzard Time at Christmas Wonderland as we were leaving, so we decided to wait around for a while, so that Noah could play with the “snow”. Noah was quite fascinated by the “snow”, and I hope we’ll be able to bring him to experience some real snow soon! (FYI, Blizzard Time is on from now till 21 December 2014, four times a day, subject to weather conditions. The times are: 7.30 – 7.40pm, 8.20 – 8.30pm, 9.05 – 9.15pm and 9.45 – 10.00pm.)

Yesterday, we made a short trip to the zoo in the late morning, and went to the park for some exercise in the evening. Sounds like an extremely ordinary day, and it was. Nothing fancy, just a day together as a family, and we wouldn’t have had it any other way.

We give thanks to God for seeing us through the past seven years as a married couple, and pray that He will see us through many, many more happy years together as a family.
