Playdate #19

We had our playdate yesterday, and it was a good thing we didn’t plan to have it at the reservoir, because it was raining so heavily! Thank God that my dad drove us to our playdate, or we would have been really late.

Now that we’ve moved on to our transportation theme, the kids all seem really happy to have free play before our sessions, because they get to play with various vehicles. Noah is into aeroplanes these days, so he was very busy playing with the planes that Mummy L had prepared for their free play segment.

Mummy C led the group in singing the Good Morning Song, before getting the children to identify some different vehicles. Each of the kids got to hold one vehicle, and were also given a jigsaw puzzle with the corresponding vehicle to work on.

I’ve got lots of books on Noah’s Ark, but none of them are interactive enough for this, so I asked Mummy L to read hers, because I wanted them to work on an ark for craft.

I’ve been wanting to use up my Yakult and Vitagen straws for the longest time, and came up with this craft, just so that I could use them. Haha. I also wanted to give the mums these rainbows that I bought recently, as all of us are praying for various things, and I thought it would be a nice reminder of God’s promise to us.

Mummy E read a Chinese book about taking the bus, but Noah decided that it was the perfect time to test his boundaries, and started running around instead of paying attention. Sigh. Just when I thought he was making some progress!

Little R led the children in prayer before they had their snack, and they had a good time eating together, while the mums had our own break too.

Mummy E prepared the different Practical Life stations: cutting with scissors, cutting with a toy knife, sorting, puzzles, and using tongs. For some reason, Noah wasn’t keen on using the scissors anymore, and refused to finish the task. He preferred to use the knife as usual, and liked the tongs too.

For Big Muscles, Mummy L taught the children how to swing their arms back, and release the bowling ball as they swung their arms forward. This is definitely something that they will need to work on, as they couldn’t really hit the pins at all.

We ended off the session with two action songs, and our Goodbye Song. It was nice to hear some of the children singing along enthusiastically!

One more playdate to go, before our Christmas party, and we say goodbye to our regular playdates…
